John Bean Technologies (NYSE: JBT) formerly FMC Corporation, is a global leader in aviation equipment for military and commercial customers. JBT’s Aerotech Division develops and manufactures numerous products including boarding bridges, aircraft de-icers, cargo loaders, and various types of mobile support cart products. The Military A/M32A-60 Support Cart, universally known as the dash-60 is an early 1960’s design which is still widely used by American and foreign militaries worldwide. Currently out of production and obsolete, the dash-60 presents sustainability and supportability challenges to the various military services around the globe. JBT and Voltaire therefore partnered to develop and introduce a modern, compact, ultra-efficient product solution that is also sustainable through the next several decades. The AgileAir-70 is JBT’s latest entry into this market, which is based on a Voltaire designed and built 2-stage, intercooled, engine-driven compressor unit featuring integrated 90kW generator drive and optional Air-Cycle Machine (ACM) unit for “conditioned air” use. Through its multi-mode capability, AgileAir can uniquely provide compressed “bleed air”, conditioned air, and 400 Hz electrical power all simultaneously. This capability not only exceeds the dash-60, but with the adjunct AM32C-10 (dash-10) unit needed for conditioned air, AgileAir now replaces multiple pieces of equipment with a single support cart.
